Ochid is based on the flowers that have distinctly 6 petals and require a lot of care to blossom and bloom.
The composition is in 6/8. The melody is entirely based on pentatonic scale (minor) as it draws upon South-Asian (Nepali) folk elements such as a heavy rhythmic feel and pentatonic sounding melodies. T
The structure of the piece revolves around AABA structure with solos before going to a short vamp before coming back to the head as AAB.
The piano is played on a Kontakt Virtual piano, the bass programmed on a ROLI seaboard and the drums giving an ethnic electro feel to the composition.
The aim of the composition is to express the beauty of an orchid flower but with a synthetic twist.
