Hailing from Melbourne Australia, the enigmatic Vida Sunshyne has come to establish herself as a highly recognized international and local cultural identity and is a fine example of current first generation Ghanaian/Australian talent. Known for her explosive stage presence and unmatched ability as a singer and Female Emcee she is a true reflection of talent and genre defining musical culture. Vida Sunshyne’s musical influences and styles stem from the Reggae culture in which she found her beginning. She was born with a gift into music and began performing at the age of 15 with her father in his band ‘Randy & the Jah Roots’ (Australia’s First Afro Reggae Band) managed by her birth mother.  Vida Sunshyne first made her mark nationally when her feature in Astronomy Class’ song ‘Where you at’, was nominated for an Aria in 2009. She then released her first full length album as a joint venture with Sydney producer Chasm (OBESE RECORDS), which won her significant exposure in Australia and throughout world. Their single ‘Where did we go wrong’ was used in a 2012 episode of American cartoon Bevis and Butthead. She has quickly become the go to artist for collaborations, featuring on the albums of such artists as Thundamentals, Astronomy Class, Chasm, Mista Savona, Bingethinkers, Killa Queens, Illzilla, Mind over Matter and Sizzla Kalonji. Her track ‘By the Way’ was also featured on the B side of Burro Banton’s 7 inch single ‘Clean Air Clean Country’. Her very first performance was supporting Lucky Dube and Burning Spear and throughout the years Vida Sunshyne has supported and performed with many big names such as, Lionel Richie, Nitin Sawhney, K-Ci & JoJo, Ziggy Marley, Million Dan, Chase & Status, Flying Lotus, Sizzla Kalonji, Ja Rule, 112, Chingy, Mix Master Mike, Twista, The Metals, Mista Savona, Blue King Brown, Horace Andy, Chasm and Candy Borquaye among many more. Vida Sunshyne started touring Australia at a very young age, then in 2005 she was flown to England to perform with Nitin Sawhney and continued to play at festivals and venues throughout Australia and the world.  This lead her to perform for her first time over two nights at the world’s largest festival, Glastonbury, 2011 in the UK. Following her Glastonbury success she was invited back to perform for a second time in 2013. Working on her first solo project Vida Sunshyne is not bound by genre or lack of musical talent and she is about to take the world by storm! After much recognition and significant success there is more of this story to tell. The 2015 - 2016 festival season saw Vida joining the best of the best performing throughout the Australian summer. This is just the beginning…
