Ndumiso B. Mlambo known by many as SOUNDQUEST, is a Songwriter/DJ/VJ/Producer/Young Entrepreneur & Music Activist. Born raised in Mpumalanga Hammarsdale (KwaZulu-Natal). His love for music took him from the streets of Hammarsdale, to the world center stage and he’s never looked back since. His Music is largely influenced by the works of OSUNLADE, JIMPSTER, BLACK COFFEE, ATJAZZ, RALF GUM, J COLE and PHARRELL WILLIAMS, just to mention a few. His successful Remix of “SMILING WITH THE SUN” by THE LAYDERS was featured on DO IT NOW RECORDINGS (MECHANIX OF HOUSE VOL.1) after topping several charts on METRO FM & YFM, which lead to his signing with AM-PM PRODUCTIONS (2011), an Independent Record Label owned by the renowned DJ CLOCK. The young artist was groomed by DJ CLOCK and signed with SOUL CANDI RECORDS (2013) after being featured on two of their successful releases, (DJ CHINA – DEEP INSIDE) & (FISTAZ MIXWELL - ADDICTV), released by SOUL CANDI RECORDS. He was then selected among few, to release his own selection on the critically acclaimed CANDI ROOTS SERIES (CANDI ROOTS VOL.3) mid 2013, which featured artists such as KABOMO, CLINT BRINK, ANTONIO LYONS, and ZANO. The release of the album raised eyebrows as it landed on the Number 2 spot on TRAXSOURCE (The Leading Global Dance Portal) first week of release, in the Top 100 Albums Chart. One of the singles from his Selection “APPLE OF MY EYE” which features the talented ZANO caught BLACK COFFEE’s (SOULISTIC MUSIC) attention & featured the song on his regular Mixes on CAFÉ CULTURE (KAYA FM) throughout the year (2013) along with many other renowned DJ’s from the likes of SHIMZA, MO FLAVA (YFM/CLUB 808), KID PHONQUE (SOUL CANDI), the list goes on. In 2014 he was approached by Grammy Award winner “KIMBRA” (New Zealand) to do a re-make of her Single “SETTLE DOWN” taken from an album she released (2010) titled VOWS. She was so impressed with SOUNDQUEST’s version, her record label decided to license the song for an in-house release. The re-make caught VINNY DA VINCI’s (HOUSE AFRIKA/METRO FM) attention, since then, he’s considered SOUNDQUEST one of South Africa’s most versatile Music Producer. In September 2016 he will be releasing his long anticipated self-titled Debut Studio Album titled, which he describes as “a continuation of my style & sound, more Soulful, Dance & Easy on the ear music.
