SKIO Music Inc. (hereinafter referred to as "us," “we,” “our” or "SKIO") is committed to respecting the privacy rights of the customers, visitors, and other users of SKIO and associated websites, including http://skiomusic.com (collectively, the “Site”). We created this Privacy Policy (this “Policy”) to give you, the user, confidence as you visit and use the Site, and to demonstrate our commitment to fair information practices and the protection of your privacy. By visiting the Site, you consent to our collection, use, storage, deletion and disclosure of information relating to you as set forth in this Policy. This Policy is only applicable to the Site, and not to any other third-party websites that you may be able to access from the Site, each of which may have data collection and use practices and policies that differ substantially from this Policy.
SKIO complies with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act and the Personal Information Protection Act (British Columbia) (the “Applicable Privacy Legislation”). The Applicable Privacy Legislation regulates the way private sector organizations operating in Canada may collect, use, keep, secure and disclose personal information. “Personal Information” means information about an identifiable individual, including an individual’s name, home address, telephone number, social insurance number and gender. Personal information does not include information that would enable an individual to be contacted at a place of business, for example an employee’s name, position or title, business telephone number, or business address. We will only collect, use or disclose personal information in accordance with Applicable Privacy Legislation. As required by the Applicable Privacy Legislation, we have appointed a Privacy Officer who is responsible for compliance with this Privacy Policy and Applicable Privacy Legislation. Information on how to contact the Privacy Officer can be found below.
II. INFORMATION COLLECTION AND USE PRACTICES
A. What Basic Information Does SKIO Collect?
We typically collect personal information that you provide to us on a voluntary basis, and you may visit areas on the Site without choosing to do so. However, in order to use or access certain portions of the Site, you will be required to create an account by providing us your email address and legal name (an “Account”). You might also desire to contact our customer support team via emailing us at info@skiomusic.com. In contacting customer support, you might be requested to provide additional information beyond your email address, including your name, full address and phone number for identification and contact purposes.
SKIO may request additional information from you, including but not limited to, Google Drive for synchronization and Soundcloud, Facebook and Twitter accounts, in order to provide you with tailored services to suit your needs.
B. What Does SKIO Do With Collected Information?
(1) PERSONAL INFORMATION. We will not share your personal information with any third parties without your consent, except as necessary to provide you with the services offered by us, to comply with the law or as otherwise described in this Policy. Your personal information will be used by SKIO to provide direct invoicing to you for additional membership services and fees. We may use your personal information to verify your identity or to check your qualifications and title to copyright, to manage your Account and Site experience, to inform you of any changes to the Site, or to send you additional information about SKIO.
(2) ANALYTICAL INFORMATION. We use two different types of analytical information, social media harvesting and internal analytics, to improve your overall experience with the Site and to analyze the Site traffic. Social media harvesting of the fan databases enables members that have registered for the service to view their own fan databases and the fan databases of others in order to better tailor strategic marketing to meet each member’s own needs. This also enables members to more accurately identify and reach particular social and geographical demographics. Our internal analytics include logging the number of views and clicks on the Site. These services enable SKIO to individualize and create a unique experience for each user of the Site.
We may use anonymous IP addresses to help diagnose problems with our servers, to administer the Site, or to display the content according to your preferences. Traffic and transaction information may also be shared with business partners and advertisers on an aggregate and anonymous basis.
(3) INFORMATION AUTOMATICALLY COLLECTED. SKIO will provide you with the option of logging on or accessing the Site through other social media platforms, including Facebook and Twitter. If you choose to use this option, you may be asked to allow these social media platforms to share your personal and account information with SKIO. SKIO will collect and use this information to enhance your Site experience.
(4) USE OF COOKIES. We may use cookies to deliver content specific to your interests, to save your password so you don't have to re-enter it each time you visit the Site, or for other purposes. Promotions or advertisements displayed on the Site may contain cookies. We do not have access to or control over information collected by outside parties on the Site.
(5) DISCLOSURE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION. We will not disclose your information except in accordance with legal requirements or where compelled by law to do so. Additionally, we may share your information with third parties in order to provide you with appropriate and certain specialized services. In the event, that our Terms of Use or Privacy Policy is violated by you, we may share your information in order to defend the rights of our members, artists and SKIO proprietors, directors, employees and affiliates.
III. SECURITY
SKIO has security measures in place to ensure the safekeeping of your personal information. However, no network can be 100% guaranteed. To this extent, we cannot represent nor warrant the safety of any information provided to us. Additionally, SKIO cannot represent nor warrant the safety of any personal information as disclosed between artists and members.
IV. WEBSITE AREAS BEYOND OUR CONTROL
A. Third Party Websites
The Site may contain links to other websites. If you choose to visit other websites or link your Account to other social media platforms, we are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those other websites. You are advised to review the privacy policies at those websites to confirm that you understand and agree with their policies before sharing your information.
V. SERVICE PROVIDERS
We may share your personal information with service providers that we engage for the purpose of processing information on our and your behalf, such as to collect payment information, process payments and provide additional services. While providing services for us, these companies may access your personal information. Please be aware that that you are providing your personal information to these third parties, and are doing so pursuant to the third party’s privacy policy. By using the Site, you expressly consent to disclosure of your personal information as may be required by these service providers.
Please also note that SKIO uses Amazon Cloud Solutions (“Amazon”) as a service provider. To the extent that SKIO uses Amazon as a service provider, some of your personal information may be stored in servers outside of Canada, including but not limited to the United States. Any personal information stored in these servers will be subject to the legislation and privacy laws applicable in such jurisdictions.

A. Contacting Us
If you have any questions about this Policy, our practices regarding your personal information related to the Site, or if you would like to have us remove your information from our database and deactivate your Account, please contact us at privacy@skiomusic.com.
If your personally identifiable information changes, or if you no longer desire our service, you may correct, update or amend it by emailing our Privacy Officer at privacy@skiomusic.com. We will respond to your request to access within 30 business days. Please note that the deletion of your data will lead to the termination of your Account and applicable services. However, also note that when you delete your Account, we may retain your Account information for a reasonable period of time afterward for the purpose of internal account management and fraud prevention activities.
B. Newsletters
If you wish to subscribe to our newsletter(s), we will use your Account name and email address to send the newsletter to you. You may choose to stop receiving our newsletter or marketing emails by following the unsubscribe instructions included in these emails or you can contact us at info@skiomusic.com.
C. Updates and Changes
We may update this privacy statement to reflect any changes to our information practices. If we make any material changes we will notify you by email (sent to the e-mail address specified in your account) or by means of a notice on this Site prior to the change becoming effective. We encourage you to periodically review this page for the latest information on our privacy practices.
