I am a dancer before I am a music producer, so every time I listen to a song, I dance to it first then I think about how I'd have made the song if it were mine (I do this a lot). The very first time I listened to the original version of the song, I clapped in a fashion similar to the claps I laid out in the song. I recorded the rhythm in my phone then laid down the claps in similar fashion once I got down to working on the remix. Every time I listened to the song afterwards, I kept hitting the table (using my fingers) in the percussion rhythm that can be heard in the background of my remix, so I had to incorporate that too into the remix, which I did, in the form of rims to give the song additional rhythm. Then I made the kicks knock like they're trying to make you move. I hope they do make you move.
As a lover of bass lines, I laid out the bass lines in a groovy fashion, syncopating a couple of bass notes in short intervals to make it suit my silly style of dancing (I like to have fun/ have a good laugh. If you ever saw me dance, you'd know what I'm talking about 😄). I took my time and chopped up the vibraphone used in the original version and syncopated a few chops to fit the groove I was going for.
I sure hope everyone who listens to this song is moved 💃I hope it makes whoever listens to it smile 😊...I hope it brings back good memories 🤗
All in all, I wish you all have a restful, fun-filled weekend and a super productive rest of the year! Sending my love from Kenya 🇰🇪 💓
