Jerome Taylor

Hailing from Chicago, Illinois, Jerome started piano lessons at the age of nine years old, studying keyboard notation and familiarity. He also studied at the American Conservatory of Music for a brief period at which time he continued to hone his skills as a studio session player as well as overall keyboardist. In 1972, Mr. Taylor entered into the United States Armed Forces and formed the 101st Airborne Division Chorale. Upon his deployment to West Germany, he performed with various visiting musical bands and also played piano and organ with the Frankfurt Church Of God In Christ in Frankfurt, West Germany. Upon his completion of military service, Jerome continued to hone his prodigious piano skills as a musical director of various club bands in the Chicago area as well as organist for the James Chambers Ecclesiastes Community Choir. Mr. Taylor also had the distinct opportunity to have accompanied the ‘Father of Gospel Music’ Thomas Dorsey in a rendition of “Precious Lord” a classic church hymn composed by Mr. Dorsey in Chicago, Illinois during an event in which a pianist who was originally scheduled to play, was stranded at the airport due to severe weather conditions! In 1989 he migrated to New York City to further pursue his musical aspirations by playing for various churches and also doing session work in various studios all over the world. Mr. Taylor has taught hundreds of students his method of voicing chord structures and has published a critically-acclaimed music instruction manual entitled “Modern Chord Changes To Favorite Hymns” distributed by Outskirts Press worldwide. Also of note, Mr. Taylor was piano instructor to Charles Hamilton, world renowned rap artist who was most recently featured on an episode of the blockbuster FOX Television series “EMPIRE” along with vocalist Rita Ora!! Mr. Taylor has also provided transcriptions of notated sheet music for various clients, most notably for the Gospel Organist John Peters’ highly acclaimed’ “Next Level” DVD/Midi File/Sheet Music package! Jerome has also composed, produced and distributed seven (7) CD projects, namely, “Finally” the debut CD, “It’s Just Me”, “Whenever You Want It”,”Fun Times”, “Tribute To Moms”, “The Playlist” and “It’s Mr. Taylor To You!!! which is currently being distributed internationally via the website. Also, Mr. Taylor has successfully competed in a number of web-based social network collaboratives, such as, Mixcloud, Soundcloud, Indaba Music, Coast2Coast Mixtapes, NumberOne Music as well as Myflashstore.net enterprises. Jerome Taylor also, is currently in high demand as a session musician, musical instructor, producer and Minister of Music for a local church.
