About this Remix

It's Float. I remixed it. I tried to stuff enough energy into it to blow your face off. Since your eyes are a part of your face and you're still reading this, I failed. Sad face. Incidentally, want some cake? Too bad. I can't distribute cake digitally. Yet. I love cake. I believe that I successfully captured that love with this song. Enjoy.

And I'm so happy that I tricked you into thinking that I'm talented! Heh, heh, heh...

Thanks! I figure the more I try, the better I get (my old stuff used to be 12 db below "normal", and I actually had to drop this one by 3), but I totally agree with what you're saying. Some music would be way better just quieter (that's what the volume adjustment buttons on audio players are for)

Your music is very good and imo worth getting the production up there. You have some real talent

Hey four, something that helped me (I had masters like this too :P) that not caring about getting the track "loud." By loud I mean -4 RMS commercial whatever. That kills music. Spotify, iTunes, etc all normalize sound and loud and quiet tracks sound the same anyway. Get the mix right and the master will be very easy to do. Invest time in the mixing

Yeah, I'm not that good at compressing my master. I just get it okay enough to where the average person wouldn't notice. I have 100+ instrumental songs that I've been making for the past 6 years, but this is the first thing I've put online.

Hey Four Zero1, I like your creative use of rhythm and the dramatic feel. at 1:50 though it feels overly driven like it's peaking. Rhythmically we did something creative as well with our remix using cinematic Japanese taiko drums. Like your use of acoustic instruments as well. What other music do you do? Got anything else online?

Thanks a lot! I've been super bummed that it's been up for a month and I've had minimal feedback. Thank you guys for making me feel actually listened to.

Really cool, one of the most original remixes I've heard in the contest so far. The glitchy synths threw me off timing wise a bit but I got used to it after a minute (when the "it's alright" lyric comes in). The track goes through a ton of great transitions, all keeping my ear interested. Nice job

This might sound weird, but I don't know what DAW's are, or what parallel is. I'm actually pretty ignorant about mixing terminology. I'm just a drummer and guitarist who got a laptop and messed around with it.
