Do my song stems need to be full length?

Yes, song stems need to be full length, so that other users can create remixes from your song.

How do I share a private link or invite collaborators to view my song?

You can share a private link to your song by clicking on the “Share” button on your song page, and then selecting “Private.” You can invite collaborators to view your song by adding their email addresses in the “Collaborators” section on the song upload page.

I don't have stems for my original song, can I still upload to it to my SKIO profile?

Yes, you can still upload your song to SKIO even if you don’t have stems for it.

My upload got stuck in processing or seems to have timed out, what should I do?

If your upload gets stuck in processing, you should try uploading the file again. If you continue to have problems, please contact SKIO support. Always make sure you have a strong internet connection and it is best to use a laptop or desktop, not a mobile device.

Should I upload every stem or can I pick the stems I want to upload?

It is recommended that you upload every stem to your original song to give other users more flexibility in creating their remixes. However, you can choose which stems you want to upload. You do not need to upload any stems to remix contests or to contest song submissions, but it is a good idea to always keep them backed up on your hard drive in case you win the contest the label asks you for them.

What file formats does SKIO support?

SKIO supports the following file formats: .wav, .aiff, .flac and mp3

Whats the difference between Public vs Private Sharing settings?

Public sharing means that your song is visible to all SKIO users, while private sharing means that your song is only visible to users you invite to view it.

Where do I upload a Showcase track?

You can upload a Showcase track on your SKIO profile page under the “Showcase” section.

Where do I upload an Original song?

You can upload an original song on your SKIO profile page or from the navigation menu under your profile pic and name once you are logged into to SKIO, simply click “Upload Song”.

Where do I upload my original for a contest?

You can upload your original song for a contest on the contest page under the “Entries” section. You can also select “Upload Song” from the dop down menu in the navigation bar, pick the file you want to upload and the choose Contest from the “Upload To” menu. Then select the contest you want to upload your song and submit to from the lists of contests you entered.

Where do I upload my remix for a contest?

You can upload your remix for a contest on the contest page under the “Entries” section. You can also select “Upload Song” from the dop down menu in the navigation bar, pick the file you want to upload and the choose Contest from the “Upload To” menu. Then select the contest you want to upload your remix and submit to from the lists of contests you entered.

Why are some songs and remixes on SKIO only 1 min or 90 seconds long?

Some content owners may choose to only make a preview of their original song available on SKIO and in some cases the remixes as aswell.

Why should I upload Showcase songs to my profile?

Showcase songs are a great way to showcase your work and get feedback from other users in the SKIO community. It can also be a great way to let labels and industry folks know where you are at in your music career if that’s what you’re after.
