DJ Brexx

DJ Brexx is a talent unlike any other in Detroit. Combining an eclectic palette of music with a passion to deliver unforgettable live performances, Brexx’s sets are always a unique feast for the ears! From Twerk to Techno, House to Bass and everything in between, Brexx delivers it all on stage in a way that keeps the crowd moving and entertained. Because of his high energy sets and keeping the crowd guessing every time he spins, DJ Brexx has become a staple in the Detroit underground and continues to rock crowds every time he steps behind the turntables! Born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana, DJ Brexx grew up around the brass band sound of the New Orleans streets and the fusion of Jazz, Funk and Hip Hop that made the city great, all assisting in developing his diverse sound and taste in music. While a member of the United States Navy, and stationed in Germany, DJ Brexx was introduced to electronic music and his world was changed forever. Daft Punk, Groove Armada, Bad Boy Bill, DJ Micro and DJ Irene could always be heard blasting from his speakers whenever he was around. Since that time it’s been nonstop practicing and refining his own personal style while constantly learning and growing into the technically sound DJ who has been destroying stages everywhere he goes! In 2010, he moved to Michigan and fell in love with the hard, gritty, soul infused sound of Detroit and hasn’t looked back since. In January 2014, DJ Brexx completed a highly successful two month residency with the House of Soundz at Tonic Nightclub in Pontiac, MI. Prior to that he was the resident DJ at The Tropical Hut in Detroit, MI. He has opened for local greats such as DJ Godfather, DJ Juice, Dantiez Saunderson, Kill Paris and Action Jackson. DJ Brexx continues to perform weekly in some of the best underground venues in MI. DJ Brexx has released two EP's and has a single released on DEFCO Records with an upcoming EP set to release in the fall. “From New Orleans to Detroit and Detroit to New Orleans….if the bass is knocking and your head is bobbing……it must be DJ Brexx”
