With a string of collaborations, festival appearances, and label releases, 2016 has seen Diana Boss' spirited arrival onto Vancouver's vibrant electronic music scene. Their soulful, polished sound skirts the line between the underground and commercial dance music. An infectious energy marks their live sets and showcases Diana Boss as selectors of the finest in sexy deep vocal house.
Behind the scenes, Diana Boss' vision is to be recognized as world-class producers and studio collaborators. Their regular contributions to Vancouver's Groundwerk - a growing community of electronic music producers - has led to official remix duties and international releases alongside other rising producers, DJ's, and recording artists: Karsten Sollors [Toolroom, Nervous], Queensyze [Nervous], Kalibo [Lover or Mate], The GOAT [Substation], I M U R [Groundwerk], Danelle [Big Top Amsterdam], Blue, The Misfit. [Redbull], and Groove Salvation [Marba, GaGa].
Diana Boss' original tracks and official remixes have been featured on La Tropicál, Classy Records, Aux London, The Falling Apple, Daily Deep, Tracks For Days, and Sensual Musique and are supported on Jungle Funk Recordings, East Van Digital, Lover or Mate, NYLO Music, Straight Up! Music, Seven Island Records, The Groove Society Records, and Groundwerk Recordings.
In 2008, childhood friends Sam Steele and Josh McRae returned home from their three-year world tour with Disney On Ice. Inspired by the energetic European club scene, they spent two years fumbling through Fruity Loops and ProTools and eventually churned out their first recordings. Those recordings would lead Sam to move to Boston the following year to attend Berklee College of Music while Josh went on to pursue engineering at Vancouver's Pacific Audio Visual Institute.
In 2014 the pair reconnected in their hometown of Vancouver, BC and focused their renewed energy into forming the electronic production team that is now known as Diana Boss.
