I wanted to use just the vocals on this one so as to not be restricted to the chord progression or groove in the original. I also kept the form the same other than to double the length of the last drop, which I took a different direction on, using one section of the vocals, pitch shifting it to the root and repeating it as a glue to keep all the elements together. I took that same vocal cut, split it in half, pitched it up to the fifth and used it for a snarey sounding element on the upbeats, all over some distorted noise and a fat sine wave sub bass. I wanted to stand out from most tracks by not using the typical buildups of edm aside from the last one: No doubling the speed of the kick or snare, just fx and energy to build. Finally, I harmonized both the main vocal chop and the Top Shelf line, making the initial melody become a harmony instead. Enjoy.
