AIMEC (International Academy of Electronic Music) is the largest network of DJ schools in the world with its 7 (seven) venues spread throughout Brazil. In the last four years (2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014) he has been awarded the prize for Best School / Course for DJs in Brazil, at the Rio Music Conference, a conference held every year in the city of Rio de Janeiro.
AIMEC started operations in 2004. Earlier that year came the idea of doing a music production course with Englishman Henry Cullen (D.A.V.E. The Drummer). This course never happened, but it was a seed for AIMEC to be born. Months later, Ilan Kriger was invited to participate in the audio part of AICC (International Academy of Cinema of Curitiba). On the first visit of the future school came the idea of using a part of the idle time between the productions of the films to create a school for DJs and musical producers. That was where AIMEC was born.
The company was created by the partners: Ilan Kriger, Rafael Araujo, Rafael Gadotti, and Leonardo Arlant. At that time the team was formed by eight professors (Ilan, Araujo, Gadotti, Leozinho, Raul Aguilera, Beto Larski, Pacelli and Carioca). The first classes were already a great success and about 80 students filled the 10 available schedules. Currently has the following corporate grid: André Motta, Rafael Araujo, Alonso Figueroa, Mateus Basso.
Since that time the AIMEC team has been working hard to update its courses and also to launch new ones. In addition to classroom activities, we organize competitions, workshops, lectures, courses in other cities, parties and other events.
In 2006 was founded the first branch of the network in Balneário Camboriú, Santa Catarina. In 2007 the headquarters of Campinas, São Paulo was born. In 2009 was the year that Porto Alegre won its headquarters and, in 2012, Santa Catarina, with two more venues: Joinville and Florianópolis. In 2015 it was the turn of Maringá, in Paraná. Future AIMEC locations are always being negotiated.
